Our Story
Sharing the art of tea since 2021

A Journey of Tea
Moso Tea was born from a simple yet profound love for the art of tea ceremony. Founded in 2021, our workshop has become a sanctuary for those seeking moments of stillness in Wainuiomata, Wellington.
The name "Moso" carries two quiet meanings. In Taiwanese dialect, moso means slow — an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to be present. It is also the name of the moso bamboo, a plant we deeply admire not for its dramatic growth, but for its stillness and resilience. The bamboo stands quietly through all seasons and rooted and unhurried. Our tea trees came to us by chance, much like the bamboo — an unexpected gift that found its way into our lives and shaped everything that followed.
What began as a small gathering of tea enthusiasts has grown into a beloved space where people from all walks of life come together to experience the meditative beauty of tea culture.
Our lifestyle block workshop in Wainuiomata offers a rare opportunity to step away from the pace of everyday life and immerse yourself in a tradition — one that celebrates the simple, unhurried act of preparing and sharing tea.
In the simple act of making tea, we find a path to presence. Each cup is an invitation to slow down, to breathe, and to connect with the moment.
